The sixth annual Oxnard Jazz Festival (OJF) is an outdoor music festival that will take place in the city of Oxnard at 'olołkoy Beach Park on September 13-15, 2024. The OJF is expected to be attended by 5000 festivalgoers per day.
The health and safety of our community, artists, and staff is our top priority. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an exceptional experience at our community event, with confidence in the policies and procedures designed for a safe environment for all. The Oxnard Jazz Festival Team has created Best Practices Policies that align with the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) “Safe and SMART Events Playbook” (see attachment) and Ventura County Department of Public Health (VCPH) protocols:

COVID-19 MITIGATION PLAN
VACCINES
While best practices dictate that events where attendees are vaccinated or tested negative for COVID-19 prior to entry are always safest. The OJF will not mandate attendees to show proof of vaccine, or a negative Covid-19 test.
In alignment with the CDPH and VCPH, attendees, staff and artists are highly encouraged to monitor
their own health and to stay home if sick or have symptoms.
MASKS

OUTDOORS: While face coverings are not required outdoors, All guests are encourage to wear a face covering. Event organizers, vendors, staff, and event volunteers, whether they are vaccinated or not, shall be required to wear masks at all times, except when eating or drinking,
with exemptions per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDCP) face mask guidance. Persons required to wear masks shall be provided with a mask upon entering the event grounds. Mask monitors shall offer and provide masks to event attendees.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING
Precautionary measures to implement physical distancing will be in place. Signs and roving monitors will be present to ensure that groups remain 6 feet apart. The tables and chairs will be distanced, and we will limit seating capacity.
ENHANCED HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES
In alignment with the Ventura County Department of Public Health’s guidelines, the OJF will implement the following policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for our audiences, artists, and staff:

Vendors, Staff and Volunteers - All vendors and staff working the event will be trained on protective measures and protocols in place, including how to properly wear well-fitting masks with good filtration.

High Touch Location Cleaning – Staff will frequently clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces frequently cleaning throughout the event

Hand Sanitation and Wash Stations – Hand sanitation and wash stations will be positioned at multiple locations throughout the event site.

Public Health Signage – Multiple signs will be positioned throughout the event, reminding our guests of COVID-19 mitigation practices

Reduced Contact Ticketing – Digital tickets will be utilized

We will also work with our local health partners to provide Covid-19 education during the event.

OUTDOOR EVENT RECOMMENDATIONS & RESOURCES

In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors

Attendees should follow ALL California Department of Public Health Guidelines for Face Coverings. Consistent with that guidance attendees are strongly recommended to also wear masks at outdoor events when they enter indoor areas, such as restorooms, retail shops, concourses, or concession stands.
